Coalition Members
With more than 410 organizational members, CivxNow is the nation’s largest cross-partisan coalition working to prioritize civic education in the United States.
Recognizing that preparing our youth to assume the responsibilities and understand their rights as active participants in the civic life of this great nation is essential to the health of our democratic republic, CivxNow pledges to advance civic education policy to ensure that every young person acquires the civic knowledge, skills, and dispositions necessary for informed civic participation.
Coalition members contribute to this effort through engagement in the state policy task force and/or affinity groups—policy; awareness-building; and research and best practices.*

The News Literacy Project (NLP) advances the development and teaching of news literacy in K–12 education so that all students in the United States are prepared to think critically and independently as active participants in society. Since 2008, NLP has been a trusted partner to educators and school districts in all 50 states and Washington, D.C., providing free news literacy resources to support students in sorting facts from misinformation. NLP helps teachers empower students to identify credible sources of information, develop skills to tell what’s real in the news and what’s not, and make informed decisions. Learn more about NLP, and/or check out its inaugural news literacy conference this October in Salt Lake City, Utah.
